Bio
Hello, I'm Mohun

I've started my career as a Chemistry Educator since 1997 and majored in the use of educational technology in the early years of the 21st century. My present posting as Subject Matter Expert and Educational Technologist is indeed an opportunity for me to work with the latest educational technologies available as at date.
EXPERIENCE
SME/Educational Technologist
2014-present
MAURITIUS INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION
This is my preferred posting throughout my career since my role as SME/educational technologist is full with learning, experimenting and using of innovative pedagogies. At present, my assignment is to support the Classe21 research project and creating interactive resources to be used in Mauritian schools.
Chemistry Educator
2008-present
MINISTRY OF EDUCATIONÂ
Joining the government service was indeed a new experience for me. I was the recipient of the Innovative Teacher's Award in 2009 as well as the Microsoft Innovator Educator Certificate in 2011. This allowed me to visit Brazil and Seattle in educational conferences as well as acquire additional experiences.
Chemistry Educator
1997-2007
AMBASSADOR COLLEGE
I've started teaching at Ambassador College in 1997 and gathered most of my professional skills in this co-educational institution. My greatest achievement was to lead the Nepad eSchool Demo Project at school level whereby my students used ICT driven resources for their day to day learning.
EDUCATION
Masters in Instructional Design and Technology
(Under Way)
2016-2018
OPEN UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA
The MIDT course comes at the right time in my career when my posting as educational technologist required advanced skills for the creation of educational resources. Although this credential would give me an accreditation of an Instructional Designer, it goes without saying that my role will be multi functional once I complete the course
Post Graduate Certificate in Education
2003-2004
MAURITIUS INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION
The PGCE course helped me to understand the underlying theories of learning and can be considered as a game changer. My teaching experience and pedagogical innovation started to ascend from this point onward.
BSc(Hons) Chemistry
1993-1996
UNIVERSITY OF MAURITIUS
My three years course at UOM was a challenge for me since I was amongst the first students to experiment with polymer chemistry. My dissertation which included the synthesis of polylactides is still of help to many researchers and is replete with experimental techniques.
I'M A CHEMISTRY EDUCATOR
I teach Chemistry from Grade 7(11yrs) to Grade 13(18yrs) students in a State Secondary School in Mauritius. My involvement in educational technology offers me an excellent opportunity to test my ideas in real school setting and plan forward.
I'M AN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIST
I am involved in various projects at the Mauritius Institute of Education whereby one of my assignment is to create educational resources to be used in secondary schools. I'm also involved as Lead panelist to coordinate training of chemistry educators with respect to technology.
I'M A PHILANTHROPIST
I like to travel and learn new ideas. Innovation, creativity and community service are my prime assets despite the fact that most of my time is about doing rather than inventing. I'm also a fervent practitioner of Yoga and never hesitates to embark in service for the needy ones.
